FAQs
Will you send me photo/video updates?
Of course! The typical way for Tails on Tour to send photo/video updates is through WhatsApp and social media. As this may not suit everyone, I'm happy to update you in a way that works best for you!
How will you transport my dog(s)?
For those dogs who require a 1 hour walk and are happy to travel in a car, Tails on Tour complies with rule 57 of the Highway Code and all dogs will be securely fastened during travel as recommended by the Highway Code. Small dogs can be transported in a crate.
Will you provide the treats?
Tails on Tour will have a good stock of treats on walks. However, if you have a dog that has an allergy or an intolerance, it is best that you, the owner, provide the treats that you're happy for your dog to have. Rest assured knowing Tails on Tour will never give rawhide treats.
Will you need to use my lead/harness/muzzle?
Tails on Tour are happy to use your own dog's leads, harnesses and/or muzzles providing they fit correctly. Tails on Tour will use their own if they feel it is necessary. Please note, Tails on Tour will not use the following: e-collars; choke or check chains and prong collars.
How far will you walk my dog(s)?
This is entirely dependant on your dog(s) needs and requirements. I will go at your dog(s) pace to make sure they're happy and comfortable in the time allotted to them. All dogs are different!
What equipment do you carry on a walk?
Tails on Tour will always carry the following: Canine first aid kit, treats, poo bags, water and suitable toys such as balls to suit the size of your dog. If your dog(s) need a wipe down of muddy paws after a walk, I will provide towels so you don't have to!
Do you walk dogs off the lead?
For any dogs that are safe to walk off lead and are trained to walk off-lead, Tails on Tour will only allow this to happen once an ‘off the lead consent form’ has been signed. Your dogs health and safety is paramount and therefore letting your dog off lead will remain at the discretion of Tails on Tour and can only take place if it is safe to do so. For dogs whose recall is a little rusty, I can keep them on a long lead that allows them to run around safely.
What happens on those "too hot to walk days"?
When the weather becomes too hot and unsafe to walk dogs, your booking can still go ahead but I will replace the walk with home visits. This will include letting them out into the garden for toileting and of course lots attention, cuddles and play.

Meet & Greets are FREE and usually take place at the home or premises where the booking will occur providing the perfect opportunity for you, your dog and I, Tails on Tour, to get to know one another going into detail about your dog's needs and requirements including all of their quirks that makes them...them! Typically they can last approximately 1 hour or a little longer depending on whether you'd like to include a trial walk - It's always great to know as much as possible about your pooch!
Bookings can only be confirmed, once a Meet & Greet has been carried out and all relevant forms including a Vet Release Form have been completed and signed.

What do you do in case of an emergency?
